An Interactive Exploration of Dance

Join us for Play Date: Rockballet Remix! This is the first event in our new Play Date series, designed for very young audiences (ages 0–5) and their caregivers and offering gentle, interactive arts experiences that invite curiosity, movement, and play. During Play Date: Rockballet Remix, enjoy a dynamic excerpt from Copper Coin Ballet Company’s well-loved Rockballet, specially adapted for our youngest audiences. Families will experience highlights from the performance and have the opportunity to learn a few of the dancers’ moves together. This interactive event invites children and their grown-ups to explore movement, music, and creativity side by side in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Each Play Date takes place on a designated Saturday morning and typically includes two 45-minute performances at 9:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Tickets are $5 per person and are designed with families in mind; a ticket to this event covers the whole morning of performances. Families are welcome to attend either performance—or stay and enjoy both—creating a flexible experience that works for their schedule and their child’s needs.

Events take place in our UIS Studio Theatre and are designed to be inclusive and responsive—caregivers and children are encouraged to move, respond, and participate in ways that feel comfortable for them. A conference room outside of the Studio Theatre will also be available for families before, during, and after the morning’s activities.
