What spaces are available to rent?
The UIS Performing Arts Center offers a variety of professional spaces for live performances, graduations, meetings, conferences, trainings, and special events. Our venues include the 1,735-seat Sangamon Auditorium, the UIS Studio Theatre (a flexible black box performance space), and several meeting and conference rooms.

How do I reserve a date?
To begin the rental process, contact Briana Fulton, Business Manager, at briana.fulton@uis.edu with your preferred event date and details.
If your requested date is available:
- A tentative hold may be placed on the calendar.
- A rental estimate and contract will be prepared.
- Your reservation is confirmed once the signed contract and required deposit have been received.
Please note that a tentative hold does not guarantee your reservation.

How much does it cost to rent the venue?
Rental costs vary depending on several factors, including:
- Venue
- Type of event
- Length of rental
- Staffing requirements
- Ticketed versus non-ticketed events
- Technical and equipment needs

Can I receive a cost estimate before booking?
Yes. We are happy to provide an estimate based on your event details and anticipated service needs.
What is included in the rental fee?
Rental fees generally include:
- Use of the reserved venue
- Existing seating
- Standard post-event cleaning
Additional services may be required depending on the nature of your event.
What costs are not included in the rental fee?
Depending on your event, additional charges may apply for services such as:
- Front of House staffing
- Stagehands
- Audio and lighting technicians
- Ticket Office services
- Security personnel
- Weapons screening
- Piano tuning
- Equipment rentals
- Parking
- Hospitality and catering
- Event runners
- Marketing services
Not all services are required for every event. Your rental estimate will reflect the specific needs of your event.
Event Services & Policies
Do I have to use the UIS Ticket Office?
Yes. All ticketed events held at the UIS Performing Arts Center are managed through the UIS Ticket Office.
Can we bring in our own food or caterer?
Food and beverage service is provided through UIS Food Service. Outside catering is generally not permitted, although waivers may be approved under certain circumstances.
Is insurance required?
Yes. Renters are required to provide a Certificate of Insurance naming the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois as an additional insured. Insurance requirements and coverage limits will be outlined in your rental contract.
